To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports. The Heads Up initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion.

The following link will direct you to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for information about concussion signs and symptoms for both the coaching staff and parents. Please note that if a player/participant is removed from activities related to a possible concussion related injury. That player/participant wont be allowed to resume practice or play until examined by their health care professional.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also produced a 30 minute training video that the Pittsburg Junior Dragons Football and Cheerleading Coaches have been required to view.

However,

The Coaches on the field cannot see all of the action all of the time. Watching the video will give a parent or guardian more awareness and an extra set of eyes for signs or symptoms of potential injuries.

The link to the training video is listed below.
